With the scares of Halloween gone, Chinese shopping frenzy over, most brands have switched their focus to them main event of the festive season – Christmas. With 2016 bringing a lot of weighty moments, let’s watch how a ‘clowder’ of adorable cats enjoy the beautifully trimmed tree, sparky lights and shiny balls. The new Christmas campaign for Temptations features a cast of 22 mischievous felines being released into a wonderfully decorated room. And, if you thought they would just sprawl out and purr peacefully, you couldn’t be more wrong.temptations-keep-them-busy-cat-small

The cute ‘aww’ moments are quickly substituted with cats lashing their paws and smashing everything they pounce on. The cat lovers can easily relate to this, as it is usually quite hard to keep those meowing beasts in order and avoid them wrecking your precious possessions. Temptations, the maker of toothsome cat treats presents us with a solution – if you wish to keep your felines in festive mood and avoid holiday destruction you should “Treat them too”, as shown in the company’s hilarious music video. The campaign was created by adam&eveDDB in London, an agency whose simple mission is “to work with our client partners to make brilliant work that works.” The end of the spot directed by Sam Brown at Rogue Films – a boutique advertising production company in the heart of Fitzrovia – definitely shows how we all wish the cat treats would work.temptations-keep-them-busy-tree-cats-small

Sam Brown brought a great deal of energy and expert pacing to the holiday wonderland set which took five days to construct, only for twenty-two trained cats and kittens to tear it apart in seconds (well, actually just in the video, as it took three days to film them clawing and biting away the beautiful decorations).

The campaign shows us how we can ‘Keep Them Busy’, but would this solution work without the trained pack and only with your casual feline friends? If you think that it wouldn’t and you would rather watch a dog bouncing up and down, just watch another one of adam&eveDDB’s projects that has hit the right spot causing a cuteness alert in most advertising media. The joyful film tells the story of John Lewis’ Buster the Boxer and captures how a Christmas gift can be loved by everyone – and maybe that’s why it has become an Internet sensation, having over 8 million views on YouTube in less than two days.
