Back in September 2011, a Norwegian agency TRY & APT presented us with a classic fairy tale prince/Cinderella story. We must admit, this advert might be slightly more pleasant for the female part of our readership. Although the gentlemen would definitely appreciate the look on the young lady’s face – priceless! This week’s #ThrowBrandThursday is definitely one to watch.apt-dnb-image-morning-after2

Being branded with “Some people are lucky in life. For the rest of us, saving up can be smart,” tagline, the series of four short adverts was created by Norway’s ‘Agency of the Year’ for 14 consecutive years, TRY & APT, for the country’s largest financial services group and one of the largest in the Nordic region in terms of market capitalisation – DNB.

The successful agency specializes in creating communication that does the trick and makes people talking about it, while using the right instruments and choice of channels, thus creating great results for their customers. And according to their surveys, most Norwegians do think that things are going to resolve themselves somehow, hoping that they will inherit a large sum of money or win the state lottery. A few of them can actually get so lucky in life, but for the rest of them, there’s the Norwegian bank, DnB.apt-dnb-image-cover1

‘Finally married’ spot follows the adventures of the world’s “luckiest woman” and a well-known, fair-haired actor who appears in this funny series of ads shot outside of the U.S. Imagine you wake up, apparently after a heavy night-out, with a ring on your finger, but without any recollection how it happened. To your luck, when the husband comes in, he’s the Sexiest Man Alive (at least according to People magazine) – George Clooney. And to make it even more unbelievable, he’s buying a mansion in your hometown and taking you to Bora Bora. That should be enough luck for at least couple of lifetimes… Not yet for the Oslo-based agency that consists of companies TRY Advertising, Apt digital production, Opt performance and POL Advertising, while employing a total of 130 employees.

In the second part, we get acquainted with the couples honeymoon destination and the third, longer, piece takes us back several hundred years with a treasure-hunting flashback full of pirates, who pursue a group of sailors through a remote island. Luckily for Mrs. Clooney, the sailors bury the treasure chest on a beach before being caught up.

And as the world’s luckiest woman, it just so happens that the happily married couple visits the very same beach while on their honeymoon in Bora Bora. In the other two follow-up spots also directed by one of Scandinavia’s most awarded and highly sought after directors, Martin Werner, the lady not only (arguably) matches George Clooney’s personal wealth, she moreover wins in Hamar. Watch the third and fourth part to see, how our lucky lady really becomes the “luckiest woman alive”.
