In the second largest city of the Czech Republic, Brno, which is dubbed by some the ‘Silicon Valley of Europe’, companies have to go out of their line and come up with unusual solutions to attract the most talented employees. With the world of recruitment adapting to the rapid pace of technology evolution, firms are being pushed to come up with yet more creative ways of attracting top personnel and talent. One of the pioneers of ground-breaking technology within the travel industry, Kiwi.com, has started using drones to recruit recently laid-off developers.drones-recruitment-drone-small

The company, which was formerly known as Skypicker, is an online travel agency with pioneering Virtual Interlining technology. It focuses on exceptional customer services and its unique combination algorithm offers significant savings to Kiwi.com’s customers and enables them to combine flights from competitive airless into a single itinerary.

Although having acquired more than 750 employees since 2012, the firm is on the search of more brain power. And it has decided to take a fleet of HR drones carrying a clever message into the skies to lure in prospective job candidates. Jozef Képesi, CTO of Kiwi.com, explains in the press release that: “We want the world to know that Brno is the European hub of new technology and we are the company innovative enough to attract the smartest people.”

Their latest efforts are presented in a stunt video labelled ‘Drone Recruitment Policy’ and it shows they are willing to even make fools out of themselves to remain on the cutting edge of recruiting tech-oriented personnel. The YouTube video exposes company’s highbrow elite which flies their drones next to a wrong building. As all permits have been carefully acquired, Kateřina Gábová, Head of Human Resources at Kiwi.com, stated: “Recruiting the best in the industry is always a challenge, as smart people need to work somewhere that challenges and inspires them. We wanted to dramatically show that at Kiwi.com we foster an environment in which clever people will thrive, and that we are looking for the brightest new talent in technology.”
