When we think of holidays, our hearts dream of exotic or adventurous vacation scenarios. Although these could be the ideal relaxing spots for fueling our happiness, children might tell you otherwise.

To discover what kids have in mind when they hear the word “holiday,” TantrumXYZ, the Webby-nominated website for tech-savvy parents, asked children ages 2 – 11 to share their opinions regarding this matter.

The responses, as adorable as the kids, were captured in a video shot by Oscar-winning cinematographer Michael Paleodimos. The 45-second-long film brings to the forefront the funny, creative, and colorful thoughts that come into youngsters’ minds when hearing the question “What is a holiday?”

Seen through the eyes of older children, who have already started to experience school’s challenges, a vacation is a school break. For others, it is a common action that takes place far away from home, where one can stop thinking about other stuff. But the cutest answers were given by the youngest ones, who imagined a delicious ice cream to be the true essence of a fun holiday.

The sweet video carries the signature of the London-based company’s family travel campaign #TripsXYZ. Sponsored by Airbnb, the initiative includes a series of other films, as well as written content, and is the company’s creative way of informing and entertaining parents in planning holidays throughout the year.

The kids’ diverse responses confirm that they have different needs during a vacation. When traveling with children, the comfort requirements for accommodation change for the entire family. That’s why the online shop appreciates Airbnb’s services, where more than 2.3 million listings of the home rental company’s portfolio are family-friendly.

The housing network decided to inform moms and dads about family travel, but with a catchy twist: they’ll get all the right details directly from the parents who have already tried the homestay company’s hospitality services, rather than through classic commercials.

During this summer, TantrumXYZ and Airbnb will send 10 influencer families to travel and stay in the comfortable properties listed on the accommodation site. Using the #TripsXYZ hashtag on social media, the parents will narrate their authentic experiences to a wider audience. Lisa Williams, co-founder at TantumXYZ told Branding.news that they picked modern, interesting, and fun-loving families “who would get the best out of an Airbnb experience, and be able to convey that to their followers.”

The short following film is the series’ first and was shot at Airbnb’s London headquarters. The upcoming videos, available soon on the parenting website and its influencer network’s channels, will be supported by inspiring articles “on how to go on holiday with another family without falling out, and family destination guides to places such as Cornwall and Slovenia,” adds Lisa.

The selected families who will be happy to share their adventures with you include blogger Sarah Akwisombe, Frame gym founders Pip Black and Joan Murphy, food writer and stylist Uyen Luu, and TantrumXYZ’s founder Ben Wynne-Simmons and editor Lisa Williams and, of course, their beloved children.

The award-winning bloggers Kirsty and Clara Taylor-Gallop, Makelight founder Emily QuintonAnna Cascarina of Little Flea, and blogger Emma Martin, are the names of the influencers that make the #TripsXYZ list complete.
