A year has passed since Tesla’s Model 3 was revealed to the public. During this time, it has collected over 500,000 pre-orders. Just recently, the luxury car that joins the company’s sedan, Model S, and SUV, Model X, was delivered to its first 30 customers during a special event. Although the Fremont-based company’s CEO, Elon Musk, announced that he wants to produce 20,000 vehicles a month, customers on the waiting list have no clear arrival in sight. Now they have a chance to explore it more closely.

The $35,000 automobile has a 350-km range and can reach 100 KPH in just 5.6 seconds. Yet, these details are not enough for the most impatient clients who are ‘thirsty’ to find out more about the affordable electric car. EVANNEX, the leading aftermarket supplier for Tesla, and technology firm Kinetic Vision turned their attention towards the future owners of the Model 3 car.

Using augmented reality (AR), the two collaborators developed a smartphone app that sheds a light on what the hotly anticipated car looks like and can help customers get a better idea of the futuristic model that they will want one day to be parked in their garage.

Rick Schweet, President of Kinetic Vision says he is very proud of the company’s partnership with the South Florida-based accessories seller firm: “As the premier aftermarket supplier for Tesla vehicles, EVANNEX is widely followed on their website and on social media, giving us a much wider audience to present the exciting work we’re doing in Virtual and Augmented Reality.”

The Model 3 Augmented Reality Experience app satisfies the curiosity of both future owners and of those who are just big fans of Tesla. Enthusiasts can even check the third-generation model’s appearance when compared to Model S.

Available for free, the app is compatible with both iOS and Android, and it can also be downloaded from EVANNEX‘s website. In order for the AR to be functional, users need to download and print a business card-like ‘target’ that will allow them to dive into a full virtual reality experience.

You can download the ‘invitation’ to the AR tour’s here. If you’re still having trouble making the AR car appear, the video below contains instructions that you’ll need in order to enjoy a close-to-reality adventure in one of the world’s most anticipated automobiles.

Until the customers get their hands on the vehicle they’ve probably dreamed of for a very long time, they can look at the app as a perfect tool to catch a glimpse of the car. They can also bring the experience as close as possible to the much-desired and expected reality by rescaling the code card to a larger size.

All you need to do is to point the phone’s camera to the target and voilà: The Model 3 is placed right before your eyes, luring you to ‘step’ inside and enjoy all its amazing features. Doesn’t the app make your waiting more pleasant?
