How cool it would be if you could just commute from any place to any other place at a very low price? Imagine seeing the whole world for just a few bucks! That would be plain crazy! Well, not for SNCF INTERCITÉS. The public service company promises you to provide travelers an unforgettable ride for less than €15. That’s right people: For this small amount of money you can “Travel Further Than You Think.”

Starting March the 12th, the railway operator’s advertising campaign takes you wherever you like, even on an intergalactic journey. This promise comes as a response to the brand’s move to promote its very low prices—prices that can take you to places that you never imagined, for just a few euros.

This multichannel campaign, conceived with the help of the creative minds at TBWA/Paris and two talented illustrators, combines a futuristic fantasy world with a message that is rather traditional. A message that is quite common for this current universe of ours.

INTERCITÉS represents a travel-by-train offer from the SNCF—the French railway company. It covers the entire French territory, with more than 200 destinations. That’s why it is pretty obvious why INTERCITÉS is one of the best solutions travelers can take advantage of when it comes to traveling around the country. Since it’s a tradition for the brand to communicate its very low prices every March, the time has come for this year’s campaign to greet customers with yet another highly-colored, futuristic initiative.

To present the brand’s real core values, but also its one-of-a-kind services, the Paris-based agency developed four illustrations that seem like they take inspiration directly from a science-fiction movie. The out-of-this-world visuals have been designed to contour INTERCITÉS’s unique destinations: such as towns, countryside, seaside, and a departure scene at an unreal train station.

To bring the concept to life, the agency worked closely with two amazing artists, who lent their creativity to the project so that it would appeal to the public: Wenyi Geng has always been inspired by manga and iconic artists such as Moebius and Matsumoto Taiyou. The other interesting artist is Olivier Bonhomme, who works either on comic books, artistic direction for video games, or travel diaries.

Prior to immersing yourself into the futuristic world, which will be displayed on outdoor installations, on the radio and online, take a look at the campaign here, and deep dive into a world that’s nothing like you’ve ever seen. Have a nice journey!
