Adobe believes that everyone is creative and so it offers many tools and software products to its customers, assuring that they have exactly what is needed to express their imagination. The company has many products, covering almost every need for people working or experimenting with creativity. One of its members, the XD, has become a go-to tool for designers all over the world. The community that uses this tool has a new reason to celebrate the Adobe product: a fresh visual identity.

The new signature wants to strengthen XD’s relationship with its community. “Our aspiration is to craft an identity that is energizing, human, global, and inclusive: One that resonates with designers of all shapes and sizes and invokes a sense of curiosity. We wanted to capture the essence of experience design, bringing a diverse set of ideas, concepts, components, and voices together to create something bigger,” says Adobe on its blog.

The company flirted with a number of ideas and concepts, some of them good, some less inspirational, and taking into account different stakeholders’ feedback, the brand watched as a casual yet empowering tone merges with a strong and bold visual style. By combining them, the company wanted to achieve a result that would express the power of imagination and creativity in user experience design.

To better connect with its growing community, which Adobe describes it as an “incredible” one, the team behind the new identity started to work on this project a long time ago. The XD’s color palette is distinctive, being described by strong colors such as rich red, dark blue, and electric blue. To all this is added a carefully calibrated gradient. Assembled, these colors form a grid pattern, “which itself is a visual representation of the kind of expressive systems that XD excels at.” There are other visual elements that are faithful to these shades, promoting the XD spirit to the creative minds of designers.

The new look can be seen across different platforms such as e-mails and on Adobe’s social channels. “This isn’t a redesign of the app but think of this as a fresh new makeover for the Adobe XD identity with a look that shines a spotlight on the craft of product design and elevates the work that designers do,” the company said in a tweet.

But the best place to admire the new look is by visiting the website, for which a group of people from several teams worked for many hours. Here, you will be able to explore the XD story, which is beautifully decorated with animations and illustrations.
