Packaging design company Burgopak is on a journey towards a more inclusive future and, in celebration of this year’s Pride Month, the company came up with a gender-neutral gift packaging design aimed at empowering its clients to champion inclusivity and add it in their future projects, products, and campaigns.

Noticing that there’s a trend to genderize the design when it comes to gift cards, the company reflected on a design that needs to be perfect “For Everyone,” inviting customers to unlock change through the power of design. Gift cards are for any occasion, regardless of season, nation, or people. As such, Burgopak replaced the stereotypes and colors associated with genders, making room for inclusion to bloom with pride.

“We are known for our ‘One We Made Earlier’ (OWME) campaigns, for their creativity and innovation, but this year we wanted to draw attention to a cause close to our hearts showing support for our LGBTQ+ colleagues and the wider community,” says Alethea Price, Marketing Manager, Burgopak.

Planting CMYK-colored seeds in carriers and adding seven vibrant colors on pronoun gift cards, the packs flourished in the light of diversity, reflecting the beautiful and diverse nature of the LGBTQ+ community. Apparently simple in design, the packaging spreads the powerful message that no person should be limited by outdated expectations. Written in holographic foil, the messaging and pronouns are a true celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.

The gift cards are produced keeping the environment in mind, both the card and the carrier being made with FSC certified materials. To bring the design to life, Burgopak started from the basic structure of the product, adding color to the collection and thus making the rainbow accessible to everyone. Following the brand’s classic coupe packaging, the gift cards are complemented by an array of occasions, further reinforcing the idea that gifts can be for any occasion.

A rainbow of colors is captured within each pack, as the gifts randomly combine the card and the carrier. Regardless of the event, the packs are a beautiful surprise for anyone, breaking down the idea that someone might expect a specific color based on stereotypes. Simply put, they are “For Everyone,” each card slot carrying this message within.
